Values
Tradition, innovation, a passion for quality, know-how and a highly-qualified workforce: these are the values which inspire their operations and carry them forward to the fulfillment of their mission.
System certification
Trucillo uses a Quality Management System which fulfils the requirements of the European Standard UNI EN 1S0 9001:2000, known as Vision 2000.
To obtain this certificate of quality, their operations must adhere to strict regulations for every phase in transforming and processing, starting with raw coffee beans.
This provides the guarantee that the end-product will have the right organo-leptic and health safeguard characteristics.
Moreover, the certification body has put its seal of approval on their client-oriented activities, by extending its quality-rating to our technical assistance and training services.
The company has therefore adopted its own quality-control system, which introduces fresh precepts and wider management principles:
* concentration on new trends in customer demands;
* the involvement of all the staff in target attainment;
* the constant pursuit of innovations via research;
* production line management;
* creation of partnerships with our suppliers;
* Clarification of the concepts on which we run our business, so that inside the firm and outside, the message is clear.
Product certification
Trucillo was one of the founder members of the Italian National Espresso Institute (INEI), a body set up with the aim of guiding and promoting the Italian Espresso image, which had until then sometimes been abused.
As part of this project, they introduced another feature: a qualification system for the end-product, the cup of coffee.
Their blends Gran Caffè and Grand'Espresso, have therefore been certified as genuine Italian Espresso, because of their excellent organo-leptic and sensory characteristics; they have been judged in compliance with Technical Regulation N° 008 for the brand ESPRESSO ITALIANO (see Annex 12 of the CSQA Certificate of Conformity for product n° 214, dated 24 September 1999, in the INEI documentation).
When selecting beans for their Arabica and robusta blends, their practice is to choose only the ones which are ripe and whole. These are then roasted using all their skills and experience.
The quality of their blends is also ensured by an on-stream monitoring system of aroma and body. Their 50-year tradition in coffee roasting is coupled with advanced technology in the completely automated processing plant they have installed.
These include a unidirectional system of valves which enables the potent aromatics to be preserved right up to the moment when the espresso is "expressed".
Study and Research - Production Laboratory
The studies and research which they have carried out in the Trucillo Training Centre have prompted them to create a laboratory.
There they can keep a constant check, using a sensory analysis system, so that the very high quality which they demand of their products is being maintained at all times.
Their panel of qualified coffee tasters is, of course, the ultimate arbiter of the complex aromas going into each cup.
